Itinerary
Day 1: Zagora – Tamgroute – Mhamid – Erg Chigaga Dunes
We depart Zagora around 13:00 to begin our journey to Erg Chigaga Dunes. We will visit the historic village of Tamegroute to see the Quranic school, library, and underground Kasbah, learning about the local green pottery craftsmanship. As we continue through the stunning Draa Valley, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of dunes and ancient Kasbahs. We head deeper into the desert to Erg Chigaga for a magical camel ride at sunset. Your day will conclude at a desert camp, where you'll enjoy a bonfire, Berber music, and dinner under the stars.
Day 2: Erg Chigaga – Foum Zguid -Zagora
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we continue our journey to Foum Zguid, passing through the unique dunes and the dried-up Lake Iriqui.
En route, we pause to visit a nomadic family, sharing a traditional tea ceremony in the desert. We then explore fossil-rich areas and the majestic Jebel Bani mountains, covered in acacia trees.
After lunch in Foum Zguid, we commence our return journey to Zagora, arriving around 14:00.
