This 4 days tour from Marrakech to Fes offers an immersive experience through Morocco's diverse landscapes and rich culture, but it's best suited for those with time, as the trip involves approximately 16 hours of driving in total. Starting in Marrakesh, you'll journey over the Atlas Mountains to the Berber village of Telouet, where you'll visit the historic Kasbah of el Glaoui. From there, continue to the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, a stunning fortified village. On the second day, travel towards Dades Gorge via Skoura and Rose Valley, with optional stops at Ouarzazate's Atlas Studios and scenic landscapes featuring Kasbahs and rock formations.
On Day 3, visit the dramatic Todra Gorge and continue to Merzouga, where you can embark on a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, spending the night in a desert camp under the stars. The final day includes a scenic drive through Ziz Valley and cedar forests—home to Barbary apes—before arriving in Fez.

Marrakech to Fes tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakesh to Ait Benhaddou via Telouet
Transfer from Marrakesh across the Tizi-n-Tichka Atlas pass to the traditional Berber village of Telouet for a guided tour of the Kasbah of el Glaoui, former War Lord and Pasha of Marrakech. Continue to Ait Benhaddou to visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, a spectacular fortified village (Ksar).
Day 2: Ait Benhaddou to Dades Gorge via Skoura and Rose Valley
Option to visit the Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate and continue to Dades Gorge via Skoura and Rose Valley (Kelaa Mgouna) where, in spring, Berber children line the route selling garlands of fragrant roses. Leave the main route at Boumalne Dades to drive past ruined hilltop Kasbahs, valley-floor gardens and the strange rock formations of the Tamnalt Hills.
Day 3: Dades to Merzouga via Todra Gorge. Erg Chebbi Camel Treks
Transfer to Merzouga via the Todra Gorge, the highest gorge in Morocco just 20m wide and over 200m high. Arrive at the edge of the dunes with the option to overnight in a hotel or go camel trekking in Erg Chebbi, with a desert guide, and sleep in a nomad tent at a desert camp where your guide serves dinner under the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga to Fez via Ziz Valley and Cedar Forests
Wake early to see the rising sun and then ride your camel back to Merzouga. After breakfast depart for Fes via the Ziz Valley Gorge and cedar forests where Barbary apes live – this is an interesting route with a stop for lunch in a Berber café. Drop off at your accommodation in Fes.
